The first edition took place in 2023 at the Faculty of Arts of Palacký University in Olomouc and was organized by members of the Center for Digital Humanities in Literary and Book Studies, which was founded at the Department of Czech Studies in 2023 by Richard Změlík, Miroslav Vepřek, and Vladimír Polách. The purpose of the conference, which became the first continuous event of its kind in the Czech Republic, is to bring together researchers from various fields of digital humanities and enable them to share their scientific knowledge and research across the humanities and social sciences. Among the many topics discussed were works in the fields of corpus linguistics, digital literary studies, literary cartography, cartography and mapping in history, issues of digital literary collections and curatorship, stylometric analysis, AI in connection with literary studies, linguistics, or art history, the use of digital technologies in archaeology, network modeling, tagging of literary corpora, or analysis of emotionality in literary texts, etc. The second and third editions of this conference will take place in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Since 2025, there has been a significant shift in the preparation of this event, which specifically means the involvement of other Czech and Slovak scientific institutions in the organizational process. In addition to Palacký University in Olomouc, scientists from the Institute of Czech Literature of the Czech Academy of Sciences, the Czech National Corpus, the Historical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Slovak National Corpus of the Ľ. Štúr Institute of Linguistics of the Slovak Academy of Sciences are now also involved in organizing the conference. The main purpose of this consortium is to raise awareness of this event and attract greater interest from potential participants among domestic and foreign researchers.
